vol

VOL was created in 2007 and based on a woman singing folk songs in Russian. These original songs were deconstructed and re-arranged. This was quite a lively piece in which I composed many of the marks in groups of irregular shapes. The structure within the music often suggested aural configurations and visual clusters. The title of this piece came from some of the dominant sounds of the songs. Participant: Olga Kiseliova.
